THE AKOYA LINE

The Akoya Terrapin, it’s not a phenotype used to describe a look or trait of a terrapin.  No, it’s a particular line I have been working on since 2018.  It started with a pairing of two beautiful terrapins of different subspecies.  That first year, 2019, I hatched 5 terrapins and 2 of them were uniquely beautiful. 2020 was even better,. Brett with Terrapin Station Exotics and I decided to selectively choose 5 of the very best females and 2 of the best males to build our groups.   The Akoya line hatchlings come from the pairings of the above mentioned group and we think they are absolutely amazing..

Within the Akoya line all phenotypes, or traits if you will, can exist: Marbled, Crown, Diadem, Concentric and Flowerback.  The Akoya line’s skin color can come  in white, slate, blue, or powder blue
